As part of the Guild’s CPD programme available to all members, we are holding a Writing effective press releases, client newsletters and intranet copytraining course on Thursday, 26th May 2016. 

Run by training consultant, David Mascord, this is a practical one-day course is intended to help in-house press officers and PR people to improve their writing skills for print and online publications. Attendees will gain a greater awareness of the requirements of the different media they work in.

  • How to improve your press releases 
  • Intranet copy and how people read online 
  • How to write effectively for intranets 
  • Writing for client newsletters and magazines: what works and what doesn't 
  • Structuring your writing

About the trainer 

David Mascord has more than 20 years’ experience in journalism and editorial training. He has worked in staff and freelance roles for consumer and B2B print and editorial training. He has worked in staff and freelance roles for consumer and B2B print and web titles. He is a training consultant delivering training for staff at major publishers, including RBI and Time Inc UK (formerly IPC), and is an associate lecturer in journalism and media law at Bournemouth University and Southampton Solent University. 

The cost of the workshop – including lunch and refreshments, plus all handouts – is £95.00.
