Guild members enjoyed good food, beer and company at the regular Bangers ‘n’ Beer reception on the first evening of the Cereals Event. Organised by Guild deputy chairman Jane Craigie, who also co-ordinates Guild presence at other external events, the excellent sausages in baps were generously sponsored by Bayer CropScience, thanks to the company's communications and PR manager, Guild member Clive Rainbird.

Limagrain commercial manager Lee Robinson arranged a generous supply of a very nice special brew made from one of the seed company's own varieties, and to finish, Gleadell’s supply of strawberries and cream, procured by Guild member Roger Moore, rounded off the enjoyable and welcome sustenance at the end of what had been a busy day for everyone.

Thanks also go to Jon Day of Haymarket Events for arranging the use of the spacious Arable Conference marquee and to Farmers Guardian photographer Marcello Garbagnoli for the images shown here.

The event attracted several guests who will hopefully join us in the Guild. As for the event itself, any suggestions for changes or improvements would be welcome – send ideas and suggestions to the Guild secretary, Clemmie Gleeson.
