Held each autumn, the Guild's Harvest Service is a traditional celebration taking place at 'the journalists church' of St Bride's in Fleet Street and praised as an enjoyable occasion by all who attend.
Magnificent singing is a highlight - not so much from the congregation, necessarily, but certainly from the St Bride's choir during hymns and special musical renditions.
The Harvest Lunch that follows has been held in past years at the world-famous restaurant Simpsons in the Strand and the Charing Cross Hotel. In 2011, it moved to the livery halls of the Stationer's Guild for the first time and members welcomed the Princess Royal as their special guest to help celebrate the best of British food and drink.
The 2017 Guild Harvest Service will take place at 10.45am on Thursday, 12 October, at St Brides Church, Fleet Street, London.
It will feature the St Brides Choir, generously sponsored by Yara UK.
A drinks reception followed by a Taste of Britain lunch and Guild award presentations will follow afterwards at Painters' Hall, 9 Little Trinity Lane, London EC4V 2AD.
Generous sponsorship ensures that Guild members enjoy ticket prices significantly below cost. Members can book individually or organise groups of friends, colleagues and guests on the communal tables.
Full details about the 2017 event, including ticket information, will be made available in due course. In the meantime, to reserve your place, please email Guild secretary Nikki Robertson.
