CLA’s northern comms manager Daniel Curtois joins the Guild

Daniel Curtois, a communications professional with more than 15 years’ experience of writing for consumer and trade media, has become a Member of the Guild in his current role as the PR & Communications Manager for the CLA in the North.

The CLA is the membership body for rural land and business owners, representing some 34,000 landowners, farmers and rural businesses throughout England and Wales.

Daniel, a business studies graduate and former journalist, is responsible for the CLA’s corporate communications across the North of the country. On a day to day basis this includes writing press releases, compiling copy for electronic member news bulletins and researching and writing news and features for the CLA’s monthly Land & Businessmagazine.

He has written farming-related articles and supplied photography for many of the North’s leading newspapers and journals, including the Yorkshire PostLancashire LifeThe Journal (Newcastle), the Northern Echo and Northern Farmer.

Prior to joining the CLA in 2006, Daniel worked for a number of PR agencies followed by a spell as a freelance PR consultant with clients including Persimmon Homes, Punch Taverns and EMAP, the publishing giant. He began his career as a reporter for the Coalville & Ashby Times in Leicestershire.

Daniel is a fan of the great outdoors and in his spare time enjoys walking, cycling and running.
