Dominic Kilburn joins Farmers Guide

Published on 16th April 2012

Dominic KilburnGuild member Dominic Kilburn has been appointed Production and Arable editor of the long-established farming title Farmers Guide.

Having started in the new role at the end of March, he is now working out of the magazine’s Ipswich office alongside fellow Guild member, managing editor Jane Potts, and new Guild recruit David Williams, the monthly magazine's Machinery and Features editor.

Dominic has spent the past four years freelancing from his home on the Suffolk coast, producing technical arable copy for both the trade press and PR clients. Prior to this he worked on UBM titles, including Arable Farming and Farmers Guardian for more than 12 years.

Farmers Guide is one of the best read magazines in the industry with a loyal following of farmer readers interested in, among other things, its strong machinery section,” says Dominic. “But with a national readership of 34,000 farmers across 27 English counties, there is potential for the magazine to increase its arable coverage.

He adds: “I am very much looking forward to helping develop the title further with what is a very close-knit team of colleagues here in Ipswich.”

Jane Potts is delighted to welcome Dominic to the Farmers Guide team after a recruitment advertisement in the Guild eAlert caught his eye.

“It's an exciting time for us as we prepare for the next stage in the history of the magazine,” she says. “Dominic takes over the day-to-day production of the magazine from me, and his arable knowledge will provide greater coverage in that sector in both the magazine and on the Farmers Guide website.

“I hope that Dominic and David will help take Farmers Guide to the next stage of its journey,” she adds.
