A number of editorial staff changes involving Members of the Guild have taken place on Farmers Weekly in recent weeks.

As part of an editorial management restructuring, Philip Clarke (right) has been appointed Executive Editor, with primary responsibility for managing a combined News and Business desk.

“In this role, my aim will be to identify the most critical information farmers need to run their businesses, provide more in-depth coverage of those issues and plan content delivery to optimum effect,” he explains. “I will also oversee the editorial leader writing.”

Phil Case continues as Deputy News Editor and Johann Tasker as Chief Reporter, and while Suzie Horne remains the magazine’s Business Editor, her Guild compatriot Jez Fredenburgh has been promoted from being a business reporter to the position of Deputy Business Editor.

The magazine is still looking to appoint a business reporter to complete the six-person News and Business team.

As a result of the Executive Editor appointment, Jake Davies (right) has been promoted to become Editor of Poultry World, filling the vacancy left by Philip Clarke, and continuing his Feathered Forager blog on poultry production issues and topics.

“With these moves, we aim to bolster Farmers Weekly’s in-print and online coverage,” says Editorial Director Karl Schneider. “The current team combines the right mix of youth and experience to deliver the high standards of multi-media reporting our readers expect.”
