IFAJ Congress 2014 website launched

Published on 18th June 2013

IFAJ Congress 2014 websiteAn all-new website promoting IFAJ Congress 2014 - the international gathering of more than 200 agri and rural journalists being hosted in Scotland by the British Guild next year - has gone live.

The site has been developed by Guild member Johann Tasker as his contribution to this ambitious event, and as leader of a small group of members focused on electronic communication and social media aspects of the Congress.

The home page highlights the involvement of three principal sponsors so far, each paying £30,000 to be associated and involved with the event - Massey Ferguson, Waitrose and Perkins Engines Co Ltd. All three are already keen supporters of the British Guild.

The sponsor section also reveals generous support from Scottish Enterprise, SRUC and ANM Group.

"We need further cash and in-kind support to pull-off this big event," says co-chairman Adrian Bell. "So I do hope that Guild Members and Friends with contacts will bring the opportunities offered by the Congress to their attention"

A detailed media pack is available here but note that sponsorship packages have already been taken up for Cereals & Whisky (Massey Ferguson), Fresh Produce & Fruit (Waitrose) and Diversification, Energy & Forestry (Perkins).

Nigel Baseley - Perkins Engines"We have had a long and hopefully profitable association with the Guild spanning some 41 years, and that’s one of the chief reasons why we have agreed to play a part in next year’s Congress," says Nigel Baseley (pictured), marketing director at Perkins. "As principal sponsor of the Diversification, Energy & Forestry theme, we look forward to making this event a real jewel in the crown for the Guild as host organisation.

"Perkins and agriculture are inextricably linked; the industry has made a major contribution to Perkins as a business and hopefully we have reciprocated," he adds. "By being part of IFAJ Congress 2014, we can help showcase what is brilliant and best about the agricultural industry in Britain."
