Entries have opened for the IFAJ’s annual photography competition, writes the Guild’s IFAJ representative, Joe Watson.
Lancashire freelance Guild member John Eveson has had considerable success in recent years. He was the overall winner in 2010 and 2006, and won a commendation in 2009 alongside fellow Guild member Jonathan Page, former Farmers Weekly staff photographer and now a freelance himself.
John Eveson also won the Nature / Landscape category in 2008 with the image shown left.
This year’s contest has three categories – People, Production and Nature / Landscape, with a prize of €500 (about £423) for the overall winner, and each of the category first prize winners collecting €250 euros each (about £211).
Any Guild member can enter free – but photographs entered (no more than one per category) must have been published, either in print or on the Internet, between January 1 and December 31, 2010.
Non-members can also enter, but these have to be submitted through the Guild and there is a €25 entry fee per picture.
The competition is being co-ordinated by Charl van Rooyen, the IFAJ’s South African executive committee member, who is accepting entries via his cvanrooy@landbou.com email address.
