New directory for freelance services

Published on 22nd August 2011

Guild members keen to attract commissions for articles, broadcasts and photography from editors in other countries can ‘advertise’ their services and expertise for free in a new directory published on the website of the International Federation of Agricultural journalists (IFAJ).

Connie Siemes IFAJ“In the new freelance directory, your Guild members can add all kinds of files to their information, which might be of interest to editors looking for freelance services,” says IFAJ executive secretary, Connie Siemes.

Apart from listing areas of expertise, directory entries can include images, website links (Including examples of work), and general remarks about the freelancer’s experience and services.

To get a listing (see image below), visit the ‘IFAJ Network’ section using the link in the home page left hand-hand column and register as a freelancer. Fill in the personal data and a link will be sent by email so that registration can be confirmed. The directory listing can then be updated with additional information and files, and read using the Services tab at the top of the website and selecting ‘Freelance directory (new).

“Please note that the old freelance directory will be taken off the website,” notes Connie Siemes. “So anyone already registered there should re-register for the new one.”

The Guild’s own directory – Farming Media Centre – is still live here. Plans are being made to incorporate it into the main website with a fresh appearance and new features.
