PR consultancy owner Amanda Brown has returned to the Guild as a Friend; she was a Member (as Amanda Sands) when working on Farming News and at the RASE and NFU.

As head of Yorkshire Dales-based A2B PR, Amanda has spent the past few years handling projects within the catering and construction sectors. But she has retained the agricultural connection, most recently working with The Pirbright Institute (formerly IAH) to publicise the construction of their new laboratory facilities.

Speaking of her career, Amanda says: “I studied agricultural marketing at Harper Adams and then my career took me from the Royal Agricultural Society of England, on to Farming News and then the NFU press office before moving to the agency-side.

“I still enjoy writing and the thrill of getting hold of, or creating, a good story, which is why I remain hands-on with any project,” she adds. “Over the years I have broadened my skills to include the organisation of events and speakers, strategic PR planning and copywriting for SEO purposes.”

Outside of work, Amanda says she loves nothing more than getting out into the hills, sea kayaking, travel, and going down the local pub.

“I’m really looking forward to renewing contacts with the Guild and becoming more involved with agriculture once again,” she adds.
