New member Harry Mitchell heads PR service intiative

Published on 23rd September 2014

Harry MitchellJournalist and PR specialist Harry Mitchell has joined the Guild to complement his role as business manager of AF PRomote, a new marketing and public relations service for members of AF (Anglia Farmers), the UK’s largest agricultural co-operative.

Harry, a Norfolk farmer’s son, helps AF’s members, suppliers and partners from across the UK grow their businesses and reach their target audiences, using the full marketing mix.

An award-winning broadcast journalist, Harry was news editor and breakfast news presenter at an East Anglian commercial radio station where he trained many of the news editors on air today. He was also a regular contributor to the UK’s largest commercial radio station, Classic FM.

"My attention moved away from the microphone towards the public sector when I became head of news at Norfolk Constabulary," Harry recalls. "In that position I was responsible for direct communication to the public through email, text, fax and voice message, and managing the press office with oversight of many high-profile regional, national and international cases."

In 2011 Harry became director of PR for a public relations consultancy before making his ‘homecoming’ to agriculture at AF.

"I'm always looking for new talent, especially agricultural copywriters," he points out.

He can be contacted at AF's offices on 01603 881 983 or by email. (Note: Contact details for all new Members and Friends of the Guild can be found by searching their name on the Guild website to find new membership listings in the eAlerts archive).
