As a farmer’s daughter with a passion for dairy cattle, Izzy Whittaker’s role at Holstein UK working on the breed society’s magazine seems a perfect fit.
“I joined Holstein UK in February 2012 as editor of its bi-monthly publication The Journal,” says Izzy. “I’m particularly enthusiastic about the Holstein breed – in fact, people talk about wearing rose tinted glasses but I think mine are tinted black and white!”
Izzy previously worked as press officer for the Cogent Group promoting cattle breeding services, which must have been quite a change from the time she spent in the marketing department at General Motors HQ. Her working career got underway after gaining a First BA Hons business degree at Leeds University.
“Spare time is quite limited because at weekends I still work on my parent’s farm, which is home to our 170-head Knowlesmere herd,” she adds.
