New member: Jacqueline Adamson

Published on 23rd May 2012

Jacqueline AdamsonNew Guild member Jacqueline Adamson has returned to the agricultural communications scene after an absence of several years.

“I’m delighted to be back working at The Scottish Farmer in a full-time capacity as a photojournalist,” she says. “I first joined ‘The SF’ as a livestock reporter upon leaving agricultural college some 19 years ago and enjoyed seven years there before I left to bring up my children – all five of them!”

Jacqueline continued to submit articles and features to the publication throughout that time, while also working towards a photography diploma in her ‘spare time’. With baby number five now started pre-school, she was delighted to have the opportunity to return to the newspaper full-time.

“Much as I’ve loved those years with my kids, I have missed my work colleagues and being out and about round farms and the livestock markets,” she says. “I’m looking forward to being back in amongst the buzz – and with the added bonus that in my new role as photojournalist I can combine both my passions!”

When family and reporting commitments permit, Jacqueline is kept busy at home on the farm near Stirling where she and husband John (as well as the children) breed and show the Glenside and West Plean pedigree Clydesdale horses, while also raising a few commercial cattle.
