Published on 28th October 2013

There were celebrations at specialist rural PR agency Scene & Herd when it was appointed to handle promotion of the AgriScot farm business event being held this year on November 20 at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston near Edinburgh.

Scene & HerdFor three years, Anna Davies worked alongside Andrew Arbuckle, a fellow Member of the Guild,  who was responsible for PR prior to his retirement. This year, the agency has sole responsibility for the event’s PR, working with the organising team at Rural Projects.

“It has been great to be involved in the growth and success of AgriScot over the past few years, ensuring that the event is well known within the agricultural sector and that nobody misses out on the opportunity of attending such a great business event,” says Anna. “Taking on the promotion of the entire event has been brilliant and we look forward to seeing AgriScot grow even further.”

Anna DaviesAndrew Moir, AgriScot chairman, comments: “The growth of AgriScot in recent years has been hugely encouraging and our aim now is to underline that AgriScot is the farm business event for all sectors and for farmers from all over Scotland. We’re delighted to have brought Scene & Herd on board to get stuck in to the task of attracting even more business minded farmers and rural professionals to the event.”

Scene & Herd was launched in 2009 by former NFU Scotland communications manager Anna Davies and joined in 2012 by Ross (Monty) Montague, former director of the Scottish Countryside Alliance. The agency specialises in PR and marketing for rural and food and drink related businesses, helping them build their profile within both business-to-business and consumer markets.

Clients range from Scottish enterprises keen to expand their business beyond Scotland to those based elsewhere that are keen to develop within the Scottish market. They include LEAF's Open Farm Sunday, Claydon Drills, Davidsons Animals Feeds, Connage Highland Dairy, Lantra Scotland and more.

AgriScot is attracts more than 9000 visitors each year (with numbers growing) from all over the UK; it caters for all sectors of agriculture and agribusiness, with the day focusing on demonstrations, seminars and advice, exhibitors and sales, and livestock showing and competition.
