Over the past three years, the Guild has offered a small number of well-received professional training courses – including photography, video production for the web and social media – and is now looking to run a wider variety of high quality, bespoke training workshops and events to add to the benefits of Guild membership.

“Continual Professional Development can be an important part of keeping your professional skills, knowledge and experience relevant and up to date,” says Julie Mate, the Guild management council member heading the initiative. “It can also improve job prospects and help to achieve certain career objectives.”

To help put together the most relevant, attractive and practical programme, Julie needs answers from Members of the Guild to the following questions:

What training needs do you and your business have? What type of training and what courses are of interest to you? How much are you prepared to invest in training on an annual basis? How far would you reasonably travel to attend training events?

“We’re keen to canvas your opinions and identify new, relevant and affordable training opportunities,” says Julie. “Please spend a few minutes completing the short SurveyMonkey questionnaire using the link below.”

As an added incentive, all completed questionnaires, with name and email supplied, will be entered into a prize draw to win a smart Musto jacket branded for IFAJ Congress 2014, the international meeting of agricultural journalists, which the Guild is hosting.
