Weddings galore!

Published on 26th October 2013

Cupid has been working overtime in the livestock sector, it seems, as the livestock editors of two national farming magazines have married recently, as have another two Members of the Guild associated with farm stock.

Katie & Richard Jones

Katie Lomas of Farmers Guardian married Richard Jones (above), a dairy farmer milking just over 200 commercial black and white cows in Malpas, Cheshire. They married at the family's local church and held the wedding breakfast in a marquee at Katie's parent's farm in Byley, Cheshire.

Sarah + Steve

In August, Sarah Trickett, livestock editor at Farmers Weekly, wed her boyfriend of six years Stephen Alderton (above) at Langley Castle in Northumberland. Steve has no connection to the farming world, Sarah points out; he runs his own road marking business in London with contracts for many of the main London Boroughs. The happy couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Singapore and Bali.

Ben & Jo Briggs

Married in October were Joanne Pugh, former livestock editor on Farmers Guardian and now senior communications manager at the National Sheep Association, and Ben Briggs, news and business editor, Farmers Guardian. They are pictured within the walls of Ludlow Castle in Jo's home town, where they had their reception.

The newleyweds follow in the footsteps of Farmingeye.com livestock journalists Chrissie and Jonathan Long who recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

Congratulations to them all!
