Alltech & Keenan Livestock Technology Award now open

The 2018 Alltech and Keenan Livestock Technology Award has opened for entries – with an expenses-paid trip to the USA as its top prize.

The winner will be flown to the Alltech ONE Ideas Conference in the USA in May 2019, with a trip to Ireland for the runner up.

Sponsored by Alltech and Keenan, the Livestock Technology Award recognises excellence in agricultural journalism on innovative approaches to raising the productivity of livestock rearing.

The prize will be awarded to the best published article or broadcast on the innovative use of technology in livestock agriculture.

The winner will receive an expenses paid trip, to include flights, accommodation and delegate package, to the 2019 Alltech ONE Conference in Kentucky from 19-21 May, 2019.

The runner-up will receive an expenses paid trip to see the Keenan headquarters in Ireland, to include a visit to the Pearse Lyons Distillery in Dublin.

Entries must have been published or broadcast in Great Britain during the 12 months to 30 June 2018.

Submissions can be made by the author or a third party (an editor or producer, for example) but are limited to one entry per Guild Member.

Entries are judged by an independent specialist panel appointed by the Guild and Alltech and Keenan.

To enter, send a PDF of a print article, a link to an online article or the audio file or script of a broadcast, to Guild awards secretary Jamie Day at jamie.day@agritradenews.co.uk.

Entries should be accompanied by the author’s name and contact telephone number, the title and date of publication/broadcast and a brief description of the purpose of the item.

The closing date for entries is 31 December 2018.

The winners will be announced on the Alltech and KEENAN stand at the Dairy Tech event at Stoneleigh on Wednesday, 6 February 2019.
