Guild Member Andy Newbold has taken on the editorship of Landwards, the professional journal of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers, following the retirement of Chris Biddle after 12 years.

Andy is director of FarmSmart Events and FarmSmart Publishing, which publishes a number of agricultural journals – including Agri Machinery News.

Chris said: “It has been my absolute privilege – and pleasure – to have been at the helm of Landwards since 2008 during which time I have worked closely with three IAgrE chief executives and six presidents.

“Agri-Tech engineering and innovation is evolving rapidly and having started my career as a demonstrator for Ford Tractors back in the 1960s, I felt it the right time to let a new team take Landwards into the future age of farm technology.”

Chris founded Service Dealer and Turf Professional magazines in 1988 before selling the titles to Guild member Duncan Murray-Clarke of the Ad Plain and Land Power Publications four years ago.

He still contributes features to both magazines and will continue his freelance work in the agricultural and outdoor power equipment sector.
