Innovation for Agriculture (IfA) is an independent, charitable organisation working with farmers to develop the knowledge that will ensure farming is sustainable, resilient and productive. We connect farmers with farming research by running practical and interactive workshops, farm walks and on farm events, specialising in peer-to-peer learning.
Summary of this role
Working with the Manager of Media & Communications and the PA to the IfA CEO, we are seeking a conscientious and creative individual who will support our daily communications and admin, as well as our digital and creative output, including social media, website, and newsletters. We are a small organisation offering an exciting, diverse and flexible role, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to help shape future IfA communications.
Through this role there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and develop skills. Although an agricultural background is not essential, an enthusiasm and basic understanding of the food and farming industry is desired.

As part of a small and friendly team, you will be included in team meetings, have input on strategy and work with team members across all levels and workstreams.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
Qualifications
- Educated to A-level or above, or equivalent experience.
- GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent.
Experience
- Confident using a range of social media channels with some experience of using these for campaigns, organisations, work, or marketing (as opposed to just personal use).
- A basic understanding of the food and farming industry and the challenges currently faced by the sector.
Skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office programmes, social media channels and online meeting software.
- Excellent communication and English language skills, producing engaging but eloquently written content.
- Ability to work on own initiative with remote supervision.
- A team player who respects and encourages the views of others.
- Attention to detail and an enthusiasm for the role.
Desirable
- Educated to a Degree level in Comms/Marketing or Agriculture.
- Experience with design and editing tools such as Adobe Indesign, Canva or similar tools.
- Experience using CRM, CMS and E-Newsletter creation software.
- Some digital marketing and communications knowledge, such as use of analytics tools and SEO optimisation.
- Filming and editing skills for the creation of best practice videos.
- A good understanding of all agricultural sectors, including sustainable and regenerative farming practices.
