Stuart is internationally recognised as a PR Futurist – a thinker and doer in modernised public relations and communications. He specialises in strategy, crisis communications, reputations and relationships, measurement and evaluation, and PR technology.
His issues management and crisis communications experience includes the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Zurich, International Air Transport Association (IATA), Sony, FIFA, HSBC, Carlsberg, Unilever, Leeds Beckett University and many more. He also runs crisis communications planning and risk management courses for the CIPR.
Stuart grew up in several parts of rural north England as his father was a manager with the Forestry Commission. In his youth, Stuart qualified for the national Working Hunter Pony championships.
Early in his public relations career, Stuart worked for agricultural clients such as Ritchey and he still remembers ghost-writing a guide to castrating sheep. Later, he worked in-house for Grant Thornton where one of his jobs was working with accountants to provide advice to scriptwriters for The Archers on storylines involving agricultural finance. More recently, he has worked on strategic communications audits and provided PR training to companies in the agricultural chemicals sector.
He provides strategic counsel and advisory services, professional development and training to corporations, not-for-profit organisations and governments. He works globally and has worked with clients in the UK, USA, European Union, eastern Europe, Asia and Australia.
He is an early adopter and in 2003 started one of the world’s first PR blogs, stuartbruce.biz, which he still publishes today. He is a frequent awards judge and media commentator for titles including Al-Jazeera, France 24 and PRWeek.
