Monil, Obio, Topigs Norsvin and Geno
We visit a field where cows are grazing with Monil’s virtual fences https://monil.co.uk/. The farmer and Monil will be present. Norway has the only two European companies delivering virtual fence technology. Monil is the challenger in the industry, established in
2022. Monil will also be at Karbon Agro.
Then we drive 180 km north to visit company Obio at Rudshøgda. Obio makes biochar, the new black gold, from pure Norwegian wood, which is used for different markets. Their biochar products used in feed for young pigs, lambs, and calves increase the most. Lunch will be served at Obio. (Obio is also represented at Karbon Agro Festival.)
Visit to Topigs Norsvin in Hamar. The Dutch/Norwegian company is the world’s second-largest pig genetics breeding company. Jeanette Wetzel, Chief Commercial Officer in Norsvin, and Harald Bøhnsdalen, pig farmer and multiplier, will present Norwegian pig production and our global business.
Visit Geno at their bull station, Store Ree. Geno is a breeding company owned by the Norwegian farmers and breeds Norwegian Red. Geno also has long-life semen in their daughter company Spermvital. Geno will tell you about their sustainable breeding, titled: «Breeding for better life».
