Entries are open for the Guild’s 2019 Perkins Power on the Farm Award – with a total prize fund of £3750 shared between the winner and runners up.

The award, which recognises power on the farm in all its forms, has a first prize of £2000, with further prizes of £1000, £500 and £250 for second, third and fourth place respectively.

Perkins has worked hand-in-hand with the Guild for more than 45 years – so much so that its annual Power on the Farm Award is now a highlight of the Guild’s event calendar.

How do I enter?

Entry is simple as judges are just looking for an article that you wrote and had published in 2018.

Email us a copy of the article by May 17 and a sentence or two about its purpose. You can then sit back and wait to hear if you have won.

The subject of ‘power’ on the farm should be considered in its widest sense, therefore entries are not confined to stories about machinery.

What’s in it for me?

Aside from being in with a chance of winning one of four cash prizes, you’ll be treated to a spectacular day in London.

This year’s winners will be treated to a very special dining experience, as Perkins looks to deliver yet another memorable event.

Over the last few years, award winners have dined at the likes of the Savoy, the Ivy and the Ritz; enjoyed a high-speed boat ride on the Thames; made pasta and Chinese food with some of the city’s best chefs; and spent time with BBC Countryfile co-host Adam Henson.

Terms of entry

Entries must have been published in the UK between 1 January and 31 December 2018.
