Farmers Guardian’s Take the Lead initiative has been shortlisted for ‘campaign of the year’ at the British Society of Magazine Editors Awards.
Aimed at tackling the ongoing problem of sheep worrying by dogs and the devastation people’s pets can cause, the campaign has been led by Guild member Olivia Midgley and council member Ben Briggs.
The campaign has been a huge success, with more than 40,000 Take the Lead signs being sent out to farmers, councils and unions across the country since its launch earlier this year.
It has also garnered huge wider media attention, with features on BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine show, scores of coverage in the local press and a three page spread in Dogs Monthly.
Other shortlisted titles for the campaign award are Cosmopolitan, Nursing Times, Pulse, Girl Talk and Architects’ Journal.
The winners will be announced on November 17.
