Sarah Peacocke (Pharo) and Marcus Oliver thought it was about time former ‘hacks’ and photographers on Farming News got together again, so organised an event for those they could contact at El Vinos, a former popular haunt in Fleet Street in late October.
Those who made the lunchtime event were Alan Whibley (former publisher), Graham Harvey (now an author, a previous Farmers Weekly and Farming News journalist, and Archers scriptwriter), Peter Adams and his wife Gerry (a top agri photographer), Trevor Adams, Peter’s son and also a top photographer, Cedric Porter, Annie Potter, Jim Van den Bos, Jonathan Theobald and, of course, Sarah and Marcus. A great chance to remember so many tales from years gone by, to catch up with each other again and to find out where everyone is today.
The next catch up is planned for early March, when the event will be opened up to include all of the ‘older’ generation from all titles, so if there’s anyone who would like to be kept in touch, please contact sarah.peacocke@gmail.com.
