The BGAJ is running a GDPR online workshop for members to bring them up to date with the latest rules to help them remain compliant in data management.

The hour-long session will cover:

  • The six principles of GDPR
  • Specific requirements to remain compliant
  • The sixth principle, its grey areas around data security
  • Overview of how to review compliance every 12 months
  • Journalism: defending a case and exceptions within the public interest.

It is being run by Jamie Richards, Head of Consultancy Services at the Ametros Group. Jamie is an ISO17024 certified EU GDPR Practitioner, accredited by the Institute of Information Security Professionals.

He has more than 17 years of experience in professional IT focusing on infrastructure, security, and data governance; he has specialised in the GDPR since it was approved in 2016.   Jamie has worked with FTSE100 companies and with SMEs in various sectors and he brings a wealth of experience from corporate IT to outsourced managed solutions.

The session will take place at midday on 23rd August.

Recordings will be made available online for those that cannot make the session, with links sent to people who have registered.

Tickets for the training course are priced at just £25 for BGAJ members. Non-members are also welcome to sign-up for a fee of £40.
