Long-time Guild member and honourary Chaplain Geoff Dodgson has been ordained as a priest this month by the Right Revd Stephen Conway, Bishop of Ely in Ely Cathedral.

Geoff’s main roles will include his voluntary work as a priest in the Papworth Team Ministry of 15 rural parishes to the west of Cambridge. In addition, he will continue to run his own PR consultancy on a part-time basis.

Geoff will also continue as the Guild’s chaplain and a Trustee of the its Charitable Trust.

For the past year Geoff has also served as chaplain to Richard Whitlock, the master of the Worshipful Company of Farmers.

“Many people ask me what they should call me now,” he said. “My answer is simple – same as always: Geoff.

“For Guild members, I will continue to offer a confidential, listening ear when needed and to plan the annual Harvest Service. However, now I have been fitted with a dog collar I am also available for weddings and baptisms for any Guild members and their families.”
