Guild member Milly Fyfe has officially opened a new farm-based classroom in Northamptonshire, designed to reconnect people with the origins of their food and the role of farming in supporting health and wellbeing.

The Countryside Kitchen, launched on Tuesday 8 July 2025, is the flagship initiative from Milly’s not-for-profit social enterprise, No Fuss Meals for Busy Parents CIC. Set in the heart of a working farm, the project aims to inspire children, families, and community groups through a hands-on “grow, cook, eat, discover” approach.

Designed as an immersive educational space, the Countryside Kitchen offers learning experiences that include growing food, preparing simple meals from scratch, and exploring the links between nature, farming, and health. As well as delivering school and community group sessions, the project plans to offer corporate wellbeing days—with all income reinvested into its educational mission.

“We wanted to create a space where young people and adults alike could experience the joy of growing food, cooking it, and discovering the role that farming plays in everyday life,” says Milly. “The Countryside Kitchen is rooted in education, resilience and accessibility—something I believe is vital for everyone’s wellbeing.”

The project was made possible through a combination of crowdfunding, grant support, and volunteer effort, including backing from The National Lottery Community Fund and The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Lessons are set to begin in September. For group bookings or further information, email: contact@thecountrysidekitchen.co.uk.
