Guild Members support 2017 farm charity calendar

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution calendar for 2017 has been launched – featuring work donated by Guild photographers.

The Farming in Focus calendar was launched at Cereals 2016 in Cambridgeshire, with a follow-up presentation at the Birmingham NEC Livestock Event.

Production of the calendar is supported by the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust, which subsidises print costs.

The calendar features work donated by some of the country’s best agricultural photographers, all of whom are Members of the Guild.

Many of the photographers attended the launch, along with NFU Mutual Trust chairman Richard Percy and RABI trustee Pat Davies.

Pat said: “It’s ironic to be standing here in June launching the 2017 calendar, being a person who complains about Christmas starting in September, but many industries must plan well in advance and farming is a prime example.

“You are here, at Cereals, to make your plans for your 2017 crops. RABI has to plan ahead too, in effect, to sow for the future.”

Proceeds from calendar sales help RABI provide direct support for up to 2,000 farming families a year, ensuring they have a source of income.

Production of the calendar takes more than six months, beginning the preceding Christmas when RABI starts collecting photographs donated by Guild Members.

“These contributions are vital and always impressive,” said Pat. “We are grateful to you all.”

Two versions of the calendar are available, for wall (£7.50) and desk (£4). Postage and packing charges are extra.

To order direct, please telephone 01268 888217. Copies are also available at RABI stands at shows throughout the summer.
