Guild Yearbook 2019 – check your entry!

Published on 28th October 2018

Preparations are underway for the 2019 edition of the much-valued BGAJ Yearbook, which contains a directory of all members, their contact details and professional interests.

To ensure the accuracy of this directory, it is essential that all members check that their details are still correct, either by leafing through the 2018 edition or by logging in to the Guild website to check their profile.

Profile contents

Each membership profile comprises three sections. If you make any changes, remember to Save & Close each section individually:

Personal Details – home addresses and contact information are held purely for administrative purposes and are not published anywhere. However, this section does contain the email address to which Guild eAlerts are sent and provides the opportunity to add a portrait photograph, which is then published in the online Farming Media Centre directory.

Business Details – the information here is published in the Yearbook, so it is essential that it is up to date and accurate. This section also provides click boxes to display telephone numbers and/or an email address in the Farming Media Centre.

Farming Media Centre – this section enables members to opt out of the online directory (Honorary and Retired members automatically are not included) and to select topics such as livestock, arable, farm politics, and so on, plus the type of work undertaken.

Journalist, Photographer and PR Consultant are obvious (just one, two or all three can be selected as appropriate); Expert is intended for Members and Friends of the Guild who are none of these but have particular professional expertise in the selected subjects.

New members

All Members and Friends of the Guild who joined within the past 12 months should login to complete the Farming Media Centre section as this is not part of the membership application process and will otherwise miss out on a valuable membership benefit.

Logging in

If anyone has difficulty logging in to the Guild website, please ask membership subscriptions manager Peter Hill at peterhillguild@aol.com for help.
