More than £2000 was raised for the Guild’s Charitable Trust by members, friends and guests at the 2018 Harvest Lunch.

The trust provides financial assistance and assurance to Guild members, former members and their dependents who find themselves in hardship or in need of help.

Support ranges from funding respite care and help following job loss, to assistance with physiotherapy and providing hospital transport.

The trust’s work is possible only because of the financial support it receives from members – and the Harvest Lunch usually features a fund-raising charity raffle.

Taking place in London on Thursday, 11 October, this year’s Harvest Lunch saw a break in tradition.

Instead of a raffle, diners at Painter’s Hall were asked to “fill the Guild chairman’s boots” with cash or cheques.

Some £1275 was raised, with a further £800 coming from pledges made before the Lunch – totalling £2075.

The Harvest Lunch is usually the trust’s biggest single source of revenue to provide funds to help members and their families in need.

If you would like to help, please send a cheque (payable to the BGAJ Charitable Trust) to Diane Montague, Chatham House, 115 Widmore Road, Bromley, Kent, BR1 3AH.

All contributions will be gratefully received and will help to make a huge difference to those in need of a helping hand.
