Guild members Chrissie and Jonathan Long of the mooandbaa agency have been awarded an editorial contract for The Journal, the magazine for Holstein and British Friesian breeders.
They take over from fellow Guild member Izzy Whittaker, who is moving from breed society Holstein UK to work on Holstein International, the indpendent magazine for Holstein breeders worldwide, published in The Netherlands.
“We were delighted to be asked to pitch for handling the editorial content of The Journal and to then succeed with securing the role,” says Chrissie, who started mooandbaa in 2008. “We’ll be working with the team at Holstein UK and look forward to the first issue under mooandbaa editorial management hitting the door mats in October.”
It has been a busy year so far for Chrissie and Jonathan, and for Katie Davidson who joined the agency in spring 2013 as dairy account manager – she is pictured right in the photograph of the mooandbaa team at the Royal Highland Show by Richard Hodgson Photography.
Apart from running their own livestock shows and sales website farmingeye.com, they have been managing PR for the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society, the Texel Sheep Society, and also summer show and sales coverage for the Dairy Shorthorn Society and Suffolk Sheep Society.
On top of that, they have launched new or re-designed websites for Newark Livestock Market, Salers Cattle Society, Romney Sheep Breeders Association and a number of individual cattle and sheep breeders.
