IFAJ Annual Congress opens for early-bird registrations

Registrations have opened for the IFAJ 2019 Congress in the USA, with savings available via early-bird pricing.

The annual congress is the flagship event of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists, which represents agri-communicators across 50 countries.

Members of the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists are automatically IFAJ members by virtue of their BGAJ membership.

This means they are eligible to attend IFAJ Congress.

With the theme Global Connections in America’s Heartland, this year’s congress takes place from from 26-30 July in Minneapolis/Bloomington, Minnesota.

Early bird pricing is available until 30 April 2019 at a cost of $1,600 for a single room ($250 discount) and $1,250 for a shared room ($250 discount).

The congress will be held in conjunction with the annual Ag. Media Summit, which runs from 27-31 July.

The programme feature experts on news topics such as trade, sustainability, crop and livestock issues, university research, water quality and more.

A variety of tours will showcase livestock enterprises, crops, bees, fruits, vegetables, precision tech, energy, seed research and transportation.

Delegates can gain professional development during Ag Media Summit sessions on writing, photography, social media, videography and ethics.

They can attend fun-filled networking events including a lake cruise, craft brewery tour, the IFAJ band night and experience fabulous Midwest hospitality.

Some 500 US agricultural communication professionals are expected to attend the congress and InfoExpo trade show, with more joining from overseas.
