Our newest Guild member, Louise Parratt, recently started working at rural PR agency Eve Communications alongside fellow members Ben Pike and Martin Ward.

She wanted to join the Guild to build a network of contacts, access training opportunities and gain experience and knowledge of the agricultural industry and its communications processes.

Louise says: “I graduated from the University of Northampton with a BA in Marketing Management in 2008, and then started my career in sales in the office supplies industry, where I met my husband.

“We gained our Cocker Spaniel, whom we love walking in the countryside, and after a spell of maternity leave looking after our daughter, I learned of the opportunity at Eve Communications.

“Together with my love of the countryside and my background of marketing knowledge, I was lucky enough to secure the role of Senior Account Executive, supporting agricultural clients with social media content, graphic design, PR, campaign planning and digital marketing.

“Outside of work my interests include the outdoors, cooking, working on our allotment – and also exercise when I have time for it!”

Louise Parratt’s Quick Q&A –

What gets you through a tough day?

Coffee!

How untidy is your desk?

It is quite tidy and minimalistic actually! I find I like a tidy desk in order for me to concentrate and remain focussed.

Tell us something not many people know about you?

I once completed the London marathon.

What station is your car radio tuned to?

Radio 2, my main daily drive is the 10-15 minute commute to work and between dropping my daughter off at nursery and getting to work I like the mix of conversation and music during this time.

What vehicle do you drive?

A Nissan Qashqai.

What’s your favourite biscuit?

A Jaffa Cake, this brings on the debate is it a cake or a biscuit?

Name a guilty pleasure

Golden syrup, this is my go-to snack on toast if nothing else is available and also my favourite pancake topping!

What colour are your wellies?

Dark olive.

Where did you last go on holiday?

Porthmadog in North Wales.

Cats or dogs?

It had better be dogs as I have a Cocker Spaniel!

Earl grey or builders’ tea?

Builders tea – I like a classic cup of tea in the afternoon!
