Guild Friend Jennifer Forrester, former HGCA communications executive, has taken up a new role managing the development, sales and marketing for an on-farm dairy in South Derbyshire.
“Oaklands Farm is situated in the heart of the South Derbyshire countryside and has been owned and run by the White family for over 25 years,” says Jenny. “It is home to the Whiteoaks herd of 450 pedigree Jersey cows, producing in excess of 8000 litres of premium quality milk a day.”
Jenny’s main task is the launch of the first fresh milk-based sports recovery drink, Xcel Milk, aimed at amateur and professional sportsmen and women. Skimmed and semi-skimmed variations in three different initial flavours have been developed; they will be produced in a new purpose-built facility on the farm.
“We’re looking to launch the product in mid-September via online shop, local retail and direct team supply,” says Jenny. “Product samples will be available from the Jersey Cattle Society stand at the Livestock 2012 event in early September.”
