Agricultural business and arable specialist Robert Harris has rejoined the Guild shortly after leaving Farmers Weekly to set up his own freelance communications business.

After nearly 17 years at Reed Business Information, including eight as business editor and three as group arable editor on Farmers Weekly, and as editor of sister publication Crops, he decided it was time to strike out on his own.

“I had some great times at Farmers Weekly – I learned all I know about agricultural journalism there, and was lucky enough to rub shoulders with some of the best people in the business,” he says. “But I felt the time was right to do something a bit different, while keeping in touch with a lot of familiar faces.”

Main editorial interests include agricultural business and marketing, technical arable topics and the environment.

Pleased to be spending most of his time writing again, Robert is available to supply freelance editorial copy on any of these or other topics, and can also draw on a wealth of editorial and project management skills.

He can be reached on 07768 402850 or by email.
