New smallholder magazine launched

Kelsey Media is pleased to announce the merger of Britain’s best-selling smallholding magazine, Country Smallholding with The Smallholder to create a new magazine, The Country Smallholder, launching with the September 2022 issue on sale 18th August.

The Country Smallholder and www.thecountrysmallholder.com are aimed at the ever increasing UK audience interested in living a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable way of life. From people already living on a smallholding, to allotment owners; from those with a couple of acres of land to those aspiring to get more out of their garden or even window box. With 73% of UK residents claiming to want to live more sustainably post Covid, The Country Smallholder, will have something for everyone.

Every issue will carry; free vet advice; helpful practical features on all aspects of smallholding from poultry care to growing fruit and veg; information on pigs, sheep, goats, cattle, and alpacas; rural crafts; property; machinery, as well as keeping readers up to date with all the latest news and innovations.

The Country Smallholder will be edited by Liz Wright who has been at the heart of the smallholding community for over 30 years living on a smallholding in the Fens. Liz has met smallholders in Africa and Europe as part of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists and has written fourteen books including a book on self-sufficiency. Liz previously edited The Smallholder magazine and has an extensive collection of the magazines, dating from the first issues in 1910.

The Country Smallholder will be published 13 times a year with a cover price of £4.75.
