Oli Hill’s photograph of a cabbage stem flea beetle on an oilseed rape seedling won the Guild’s 2016 Arable Photography Award, sponsored by DuPont.

The photo was described by the judges as a topical picture which tells the story, adding that the simplest shots are often the best.

Tim Scrivener was runner-up – judges said they liked the quirky angle and framing of this shot, taken at the 2015 Cereals Event, along with the fact that it had been technically well-executed.

The winners were presented with their prizes at the Guild’s Cereals Event Bangers ‘n’ Beer reception by Neil Beadle of DuPont.
