Winners of the Guild’s Photography Awards, back by popular demand after a few years’ hiatus, were honoured at the Harvest Festival on 7 October.
The three categories – arable, livestock and the environment and sustainability – were judged by national newspaper photographer Anthony Chappell-Ross.
Freelance Tim Scrivener won the arable award for his image of harvesting in the late evening sunshine in Rutland, published in Farmers Weekly.
Runner-up was Farmers Guardian’s staff photographer Marcello Garbagnoli, for his photo of a new Claas combining winter wheat in Lincolnshire.
New Guild member Jac Williams won the environment and sustainability award for his landscape photograph of the Dee valley above Llangollen.
Freelancer John Eveson was runner-up for his image of big bales of grass silage in flooded farmland near Milnthorpe, Cumbria.
Farmers Guardian’s Marcello Garbagnoli won the livestock award for his stunning photo of Swaledale sheep during a frosty morning in Northumberland.
Freelancer Tim Scrivener was runner-up for a picture of a farmer feeding her ewes in Lincolnshire during heavy snowfall earlier this year.
