Guild member Catherine Laurenson (left), former staff photographer on The Scottish Farmer, has joined the agency established eight years ago by fellow Guild member Catherine MacGregor (below) at her farm base in Blairdrummond near Stirling.

The two Catherines specialise in farming photography, and in getting quality images of prime livestock in particular; as such they are among a relatively small band of specialists with expertise in livestock photography.

“We go to agricultural events all over the UK and Ireland, including livestock sales and shows, to photograph prize-winning livestock, animals that achieve the top prices and other highlights,” says Catherine MacGregor. “And by collaborating with graphic and web design professionals, we bring quality, considered design for marketing materials to the agricultural industry, including advertising and websites.”

In addition to livestock, however, the photo sales section of the MacGregor Photography website has sections on agricultural events, fashion, portraits, weddings and greetings cards that give access to online print orders.

“I’ve become so busy with livestock photography that I needed to take someone on to spread the workload,” says Catherine MacGregor. “I’m delighted that Catherine has come to work with me and help maintain high standards in the service I provide.”
