Whisper PR accounts executive Sam Hiner has become a member of the Guild.

The 22-year-old from Leicestershire became aware of the job opportunity at the agency while studying journalism at Sheffield Hallam; researches for his dissertation into social media use in agricultural journalism led him to contact then Guild chairman and Whisper director Adrian Bell.

Sam said: “I contacted Adrian through the Guild in order to gain some contacts who could help advise me on the use of social media and the importance it may play in the future.

“He put me in touch with two IFAJ contacts in America, Owen Roberts and Jim Evans, whose expertise and recommendations of literature proved vital.”

He also attended the Guild annual meeting in London and provided a reporton the event for the Guild website.

With his press releases already being picked up by the leading farming titles, Sam is relishing the agri PR challenge.

Away from the office he enjoys playing rugby, running and any outdoor/indoor sports.
