International

Members of the Guild automatically become members of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists and the European Network of Agricultural Journalists, giving them unique access to a global network of agricultural communicators.

Guild Members are eligible to attend the annual IFAJ Congress, as well as a host of overseas trips hosted by the IFAJ and ENAJ in Europe and further afield.

To receive information and details of available trips as soon as they become available, Guild members can sign up for the IFAJ newsletter and ENAJ newsletter. Guild members are also eligible to enter IFAJ awards and competitions.

The Guild’s IFAJ representative is Olivia Cooper, who can be contacted at international@gaj.org.uk, while ENAJ representative Adrian Bell can be contacted at adrian.bell@agromavens.com.

Membership cards

The Guild doesn’t issue a membership card but journalists who need identification as a media representative can apply for an IFAJ Press Card.

Issued by the IFAJ, it is recognised by agricultural institutes, governments, ministries, exhibitions, fairs and events all over the world. It costs €15 (plus bank transfer charges).

An order form is available from Guild secretary Nikki Robertson, which must also be used to renew a card using the existing IFAJ membership number. In both cases, a digital photograph is required in .jpg format, sized 20mm x 30mm. It must be in colors RGB (not CMYK) and to 300 dpi resolution. The image file should be titled with the name of the person applying (surname_firstname.jpg).

International Federation of Agricultural Journalists

The IFAJ is a non-partisan, not-for-profit professional association for agricultural journalists in 45 countries. IFAJ members embrace freedom of the press.

Representing more than 5,000 professionals, the IFAJ gives agricultural journalists and communicators a platform for professional development and international networking.

European Network of Agricultural Journalists

The ENAJ comprises the national organisations of journalists and communicators of 22 EU and EFTA member states.

It is designed to offer networking opportunities, professional contacts and regular access to the politicians and institutions directing and overseeing the Common Agricultural Policy within the EU.
