Ewan Pate's new arable role on Farm North-East

Published on 1st February 2016

Two Members of the Guild in Scotland – Ewan Pate and Eddie Gillanders – are to work together on the Scottish title Farm North-East.

Ewan (right), who recently retired as farming editor of The Courier, the Dundee-based daily paper, farms in Angus and has joined the team on a freelance basis to write on arable matters. He will also contribute a regular opinion piece.

“Our aim is to maintain and enhance the high standard of editorial content I believe we have achieved in Farm North-East,” says publishing editor Eddie Gillanders. “Ewan is a highly respected agricultural journalist and commentator on farming matters and will be a great asset to the team. His remit as arable editor is to improve and expand our arable coverage.”

Ewan has been recruited alongside three prominent farmers in their respective fields who will give practical insights into what is happening in their enterprises and comment on the issues of the day through their Farm View columns.

Farm North-East is published every two months and is available to farming and other rural enterprises throughout eastern Scotland from Aberdeenshire to The Borders. It carries news of political issues affecting agriculture in Scotland, and reports on business topics, as well as shows, sales and markets with a strong focus on beef and sheep.

A comprehensive directory of farming and other rural magazines, newspaper supplements and websites published in Britain is available in the Guild's Farming Media Centre.
