Geoff Dodgson is appointed Guild honorary chaplain

Published on 28th September 2016

Geoff Dodgson, a senior consultant with Cambridge marketing agency Ware Anthony Rust and a Reader in the Diocese of Ely, has been appointed Honorary Chaplain to the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists.

Geoff is well qualified for his new role having spent his career in agricultural communications, including a time as arable editor of Farmers Weekly.

He has also spent 25 years serving in rural parishes within Cambridgeshire.

Geoff's first task in his new role was to officiate at the annual Harvest Festival service for the Guild, held in St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, London – also known as the journalists’ church.

Commenting on the new role, Geoff said: “I am honoured and thrilled to have been asked to take on this role.

“The Guild offers a great fellowship for all involved in telling the story of modern farming and the countryside – topics very close to my heart.”

Ben Briggs, chairman of the Guild and editor of Farmers Guardian, said: “We are delighted Geoff has accepted this post.

“He has been a strong supporter of the Guild for many years and has played a significant role in a range of church activities for the industry.”

Geoff can be contacted at Geoff.Dodgson@war.uk.com.
