Guild Member Nick Rainsley – who specialises in marketing, PR and events relating to a range of agricultural crops – has joined agronomy and supplies company Hutchinsons in a new role heading the marketing team.

Nick has more than 28 years’ of experience within the sector, initially as an agronomist and since 2003 as head of a team at a similar business where he was responsible for marketing initiatives including brand and campaign management, press and PR, and events management throughout the arable, fruit, horticulture, vegetable, seed, precision farming and amenity sectors.

“It’s a very exciting time to be joining such a dynamic and forward-thinking business as Hutchinsons and I am very much looking forward to being part of the team,” says Nick. “My aim is to support our agronomy, technical and service development teams in all aspects of their marketing and communications.

“We need to ensure that we fully understand the needs of our existing and future customers and highlight the opportunities and benefits that our agronomists and their services offer for their future,” he adds.

Andrew McShane, Hutchinsons managing director, says: “As we plan for the future, it is essential that the business continues to develop and deliver for growers the most profitable crop production solutions. We are therefore fully committed to continuing investment in our services and our people to match our customers’ needs and are delighted that Nick shares this vision.”

Hutchinsons is an enthusiastic supporter of the Guild through sponsorship at the Harvest Lunch and of the newly-introduced Omnia Precision Farming Award for journalism.
