Perkins Power on the Farm Award

Entries must have been published in the UK between 1 January and 31 December in the year preceding entry.

The subject of ‘power’ or ‘technology’ on the farm should be considered in its widest sense, therefore entries are not confined to stories about machinery.

Submissions can be made by the author or a third party and can include written and broadcast material. Only one entry per person.

The competition is not open to first prize winners of the past three years. Entries are still open, however, to runners up.

All entrants must be available to attend the awards celebration in London.

A long-running award generously sponsored by Perkins, the Power on the Farm Award recognises articles or broadcasts covering ‘farm power’ in all its forms.

For more than 40 years, Perkins has worked with the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists (BGAJ) and our annual Power on the Farm Award is now a highlight in the Guild’s event calendar.

This award is a chance to win a generous cash prize and a spectacular day out – usually in London – followed by a sumptuous lunch.

Previous award winners have dined at The Ivy, The Mayfair and The Ritz; enjoyed a high speed boat ride, had a masterclass with some of the city’s best chefs and attended the London Olympic Games.
