New roles for Guild members at Briefing Media

After more than seven years as Farmers Guardian editor, Emma Penny (centre above) has stepped up to the new position of group Head of Content, overseeing Farmers GuardianFGInsight.comArable FarmingDairy FarmerAgrimoney.com and other current and future publications and initiatives.

Rory Brown, Briefing Media co-founder and chief marketing officer, said: “Emma has done a phenomenal job during her tenure as editor and, as she steps up to her new group role, we are lucky to have such a strong team in place.”

Ben Briggs, currently the title’s head of news, business and analysis, moves into the editor’s chair at Farmers Guardian. He started his journalism career as livestock reporter at the national farming newspaper in 2004 before moving to the daily Lancashire Telegraph, where he became senior reporter and business editor, and then Lancashire Business View, where he was editor.

Ben returned to Farmers Guardian in 2010 and has been responsible for developing news and business coverage since then.

“I am incredibly proud to have been appointed editor of Farmers Guardian,” says Ben. “It’s a brand I am passionate about and there are exciting times ahead for the publication and the wider Briefing Media Agriculture portfolio.”

Deputy editor Vickie Robinson is promoted to become Briefing Media Agriculture’s head of content solutions. In this new role, Vickie will take editorial responsibility for any projects involving sponsors or external clients, including numerous industry media partnerships.

“Ben will be a fantastic editor for Farmers Guardian and Vickie takes on an important new role alongside our commercial projects,” said Rory Brown.
