The Guild represents editors and journalists, broadcasters, photographers and PR/marketing specialists working in British agriculture, commercial horticulture and other rural industries.
Our members work freelance and full-time for newspapers, specialist publications, consumer magazines, in radio and on television, in online media, for agencies, commercial businesses and other organisations in the rural sector.
The Guild aims to promote the highest possible standards among journalists, communicators, photographers and others who specialise in communications in agriculture, horticulture, rural affairs and related subjects.
It represent members' interests and concerns, and maintain relations with appropriate representative bodies, while providing a forum, through business meetings and social activities, to meet eminent people in these industries.
The Guild also seeks to maintain contact with similar organisations overseas, and to continue membership of and support for the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists and the European Network of Agricultural Journalists.
It promotes initiatives for the continuing professional development of members of the company and for the provision and training of suitable entrants into agricultural, horticultural and related journalism.
