Journalists who have written stories showcasing the vital role of engineering in modern food and energy production are being invited to enter the Guild’s IAgrE Award, which carries a £1,500 prize pot.

Now in its eighth year, the award is open to articles or broadcasts by Guild members covering topics in the agriculture, horticulture, forestry, amenity or rural environment sectors.

IAgrE chief executive Charles Nicklin, said: “The awards are an opportunity for IAgrE to support the agricultural industry and build relationships with journalists. It also helps us to increase awareness of the Institution and supports our aim to promote professionalism in the development and application of technology in the land-based sector.”

Entries are limited to one per member reporting on engineering – in all its forms – published between March 1, 2020 and February 28, 2021.

The overall winner will receive a commemorative plaque and £1,000. The runner-up will receive a commemorative plaque and £500
