How to use our Farming Media Centre search facility
The Farming Media Centre will put you in contact with Members and Friends of the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists – and other key contacts in the food and farming industries.
You can search by name, region, expertise and knowledge, or for a particular discipline e.g. Journalist, PR Consultant or Photographer. Clicking Search without entering any criteria will display all Members and Friends. In all cases, listings are displayed in random rather than alphabetical order.
If you are an editor or journalist working outside the agricultural industry, members can help by checking information for an article to ensure its accuracy or suggest suitable contacts for stories.
If you represent a commercial or other organisation, members can provide freelance writing, website editing, video content and production, broadcasting, photography and PR / marketing services on all topics related to the rural sector.
The Guild offers a recruitment advertising service for organisations wanting to appoint staff in rural communications roles, such as reporting, editing, PR and marketing communications. Click here for more details.
The Guild can also help with contacts in other countries through its affiliation to the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) and European Network of Agricultural Journalists (ENAJ).
For emergency help with story contacts or checking facts, or for crisis management PR, contact Guild Chairman Catherine Linch on 01568 617620.
- Decide which fields you wish to search against and enter your criteria: for example, select ‘Eastern’ Region and ‘Arable’ to search for all Guild members who can advise on arable farming matters and who are based in the eastern counties.
- Click ‘Search’
- The next page will show a list of all members matching your search requirements. Telephone numbers and/or email addresses will be displayed in some cases, but all members can be contacted using the email facility, which sends a message with details of your request. They will respond at the earliest opportunity.
- There are no limits to the number of searches you can perform.
If you don’t get the results or responses you need, please contact Guild secretary Nikki Robertson on 07584 022909 or by email to gajsec@gmail.com for further help and advice.
