This year’s Agricultural Journalism Awards – which recognise the best in British written and broadcast agricultural journalism – are now open for entries.

Sponsored this year by the Guild, the awards will be judged by a panel of leading industry figures and previous winners.

GAJ chairman Johann Tasker said: “The Agricultural Journalism Awards are a real highlight of the Guild’s awards programme and are an opportunity for us to celebrate members’ talent for content creation. That is why we are pleased to sponsor this year’s awards and we look forward to honouring the best of our industry’s communicators at this year’s Harvest Event.”

Results and winners will be announced at the Guild’s Harvest Event, on Thursday, October 13.

There are three award categories: Arable; Livestock and Grassland; and Environment and Rural. Each carries a £500 first prize.

Entries should have been published or broadcast in Great Britain between January 1, 2020 and August 1, 2022 and are limited to one entry per Guild member.

Nominations will be accepted from third parties, such as an editor or producer.

To enter, email a PDF of your article or broadcast recording to BGAJ awards secretary Olivia Midgley no later than Monday, September 19.

Your entry must include the author’s name and contact telephone number, the title and date of the publication/broadcast, and a brief description of the purpose of the article.

Any individual or business who would like to sponsor the awards from 2023 should email awards@guild.org.uk
